One Plus One Equals Three

One Plus One Equals Three

When Yennie and Eric Chou first began dreaming of Beautyfluff, they envisioned skincare, comfort, and a space that felt like home for every client who walked through the door. What they didn’t expect was that another life-changing journey—parenthood—would quickly begin reshaping that dream from the inside.

Pregnancy has a way of shifting everything—priorities, perspectives, even the way you see yourself. When Yennie and Eric learned they were expecting a child, Beautyfluff didn’t stop being important. But the dream began to take on a different form.

During Yennie’s pregnancy with their son, her approach to work shifted naturally. She needed more flexibility in her hours, more time to rest, and more room to prepare for life as a first-time mom. At first, this meant fewer treatments and a greater focus on building Beautyfluff’s retail and online store. But to her surprise, clients continued to seek out Beautyfluff’s treatments more than anything else. What seemed like a limitation at the time ended up revealing a new direction for their family business. The heart of Beautyfluff wasn’t in the products, but in hands-on care.

Motherhood also changed the way Yennie related to the people around her. She became more attentive to the needs of mothers in her community, more thoughtful about comfort, and more aware of how deeply people needed spaces where they could truly rest. Even the details began to shift. Treatment beds that could accommodate pregnancy mattered more. Services that allowed women to feel supported in different stages of life mattered more. Rest itself took on a different meaning.

Beautyfluff was never just a spa. But after pregnancy entered the picture, it became even more clearly tied to the realities of life beyond the treatment room. It became a place shaped not only by beauty, but by care, adaptation, and the changing needs of the people building it. The dream was still the same.

But now, it had to make room for three.
